The journal Employees & Employers: Labour Law and Social Security Review was founded in 2001 with the aim to develop and promote scientific research and knowledge in the fields of labour and social law and to promote the dialogue between the academic and research community and the experts in practice as well as the social partners.
The journal publishes scientific articles, discussions, comparative analyses, analyses of legislative, administrative and judicial developments in Slovenia and in the EU, case law of the CJEU, ECHR, ECSR etc., book reviews, reports from conferences and other relevant events in the fields of labour law, industrial relations, employment policy and social security. The journal also presents the research findings of practical relevance to the practice.
The journal has become the central forum for exchanging scientific discussions and high-quality papers of the leading academics and professionals, social partners and practitioners in the field of labour and social law in Slovenia and for critical research publishing aiming at further developing of law, case-law and everyday practice in the field of labour and social relations.

In 2015, the journal Employees & Employers was admitted to membership of the International Association of Labour Law Journals (IALLJ). However, the journal will still publish the majority or at least half of the articles in Slovenian language. One of the aims of the journal is also to keep and develop Slovenian scientific terminology in this area and to promote Slovenian research in the area of labour and social law as well.
